About Us

Letter From the Principal

Dear Cunha Intermediate School Community,

Welcome to the 2026-27 school year! I am excited to welcome both our returning families and those joining the Cunha community for the first time. As we begin another school year, I look forward to partnering with our outstanding teachers, staff, and families to continue making Cunha a school where every student feels safe, supported, welcomed, and challenged to reach their full potential.

Middle school is a time of tremendous growth, both inside and outside the classroom. Students are developing academically while also discovering who they are, building independence, and learning how to navigate new opportunities and responsibilities. Our commitment is to provide an environment where students are encouraged to take risks in their learning, held to high expectations, and supported every step of the way. We want every student to leave Cunha prepared for high school and equipped with the confidence, resilience, empathy, and character to be successful wherever life takes them.

Creating that kind of school takes all of us. The partnership between home and school plays a vital role in every student's success, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us each day. By maintaining open communication, staying involved in your child's education, and participating in opportunities such as PTO, Booster Club, School Site Council, ELAC, and school events, you help strengthen the sense of community that makes Cunha such a special place.

I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the year—whether at summer orientation, Back-to-School Night, sporting events, performances, or simply during morning drop-off. If we haven't had the chance to meet yet, please don't hesitate to introduce yourself. My door is always open, and I value the opportunity to connect with our families.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for all you do to support our students. Together, we will continue building a school community where every student feels a sense of belonging, is inspired to grow, and has every opportunity to succeed. I look forward to another outstanding year at Cunha.

Go Cubs!

Sincerely,
Victor Guzman
